I spend a lot of my time working for the interests of brands online. I know quite a few people that actually spend considerable amounts of time trying to figure out how to create an interaction that you (the target) could believably want to have with a brand. That's why this example of social media in action is so much better than any brand campaign.
Defaulterror is a mate of mine who I used to work with at Bottomline Interactive & his twitter stream is usually just full of boasting about cool concerts he gets to go to (punk just got tickets to Cypress Hill). Yesterday, he shared something that I thought deserved some more attention.
Help Jared Woods Meet Lily Allen - The Movie http://bit.ly/92TBbx Please help @LegoTrip meet her and EVERYONE please RT this!

The video after the tweet explains the whole story.
I had no real idea of who Jared Woods was. I knew he was a mate of Derek's but not much more. What I did see was that this whole bet (to get Jared to meet Lily Allen) was with Mark Hartley, who I know from way back. And so in the spirit of selfless social media (and helping Jared win his bet with Mark), I created this post.
The goal is simple. Please help this guy with whatever it is you can. I'd be kinda weirded out if someone started a campaign to meet me, but he's come close before. She mentioned him online, so she knows he's there. All we have to do is create enough noise that she has to sit up and take notice.
Besides, before I saw all this, I had no idea who she was at all.
